Answers to all your questions about the auction (FAQ)
What is an online auction?
The chance to book before the official start date.
Do I have to take part to book for next Summer?
The auction is an extra service that in no way affects telephone bookings from the 24th November made in the usual manner and at no additional cost.
Please note that in recent years the number of requests made by auction has increased considerably and there may be serious problems with availability, especially for caravan spaces during the months of July and August. Our figures: 176 Caravan Super pitches, 146 camper Super pitches, 46 Ultra pitches. Average reservation: 2 weeks.
Who should take part in the auction?
Those who want to book a specific pitch in a period of high demand (July – August).
Families who want to be close together (especially if they have different equipment: for example, one in a caravan and another in a camper).
If you need a larger pitch than normal, or one that is in a special position.
Seafront positions.
What is being auctioned?
Booking numbers , which will be valid both for pitches and for the Holiday Homes.
Once the auction has ended, the person who has made the highest bid will receive number 1 and will be contacted by our office the following day. They will be the first to choose their pitch or Holiday Home amongst those available for the period they require.
The camper with the second highest offer will receive number 2 and will be contacted immediately afterwards. They will have the choice of all periods and solutions, except those already booked by number 1. We will then call the person with the third-highest bid and so on until the last request has been satisfied.
Who can take part?
All campers who have stayed at Club Camping Jesolo International at least once from 2001.
How do I take part?
Via the Internet on the Club website (www.jesolointernational.it). After selecting the language the link to access the auction will appear.
When will it take place?
From 10am on the 19th October till 5pm on the 27th October 2024.
How much should I bid?
As much as you want. Bidding starts from a minimum of € 10.00 and goes up by a minimum of €1.00 (i.e. without decimals, e.g. € 11.00, € 54.00, € 129.00 etc).
Will the auction change the Campsite’s price list?
No, the 2025 price list will remain valid for everyone. The auction is not related to the price of the holiday, but is a way to “buy” a chance to book ahead of others.
Will the sum bid be subtracted from the total bill on leaving the Campsite, like the booking deposit?
No, the sum bid will not be deducted on leaving. It is an extra cost.
We have chosen this method to make the auction selective and to limit it to those for whom it is important.
Our aim is to manage booking in a non-arbitrary, specific way and to offer a better service.
Reimbursing the bids on leaving the campsite would lead to much higher offers, but would mean that the auction is no longer selective.
Why should I pay for something that I can have free?
Club Jesolo International has never applied any charge on normal bookings and this will be the case for bookings for 2025, too, but only after the 24th November. Other campsites often apply a non-refundable “booking fee” of € 15,00-€ 30,00 for all bookings.
Our guests can either choose to book free of charge after 24th November, or to take part in the auction even with a bid of just € 10,00, allowing them to choose their pitch at their leisure and save on frustrating attempts at contacting us by telephone, and the consequent time and cost, as the phone lines are always busy in the first few weeks.
The auction is intended as a solution to problems generated by the ever greater number of requests we receive, many of which are concentrated in the first few days, and aims to produce an ordered sequence of requests to process, and not established randomly, but directly by guests according to the importance and therefore the value that each one attributes to the certainty of being able to have “His/Her” place.
The auction is not therefore a way to increase our earnings, as we could achieve the same economic result simply by raising prices by a fraction of a percentage point or introducing a surcharge for seafront and corner pitches, etc.
The auction mechanism allows us to change the way we consider the price list, so that each individual can at least in part decide the price that he/she feels is correct, because they are not bidding against the Club, but rather other campers. In short, we could rephrase the question “why should I pay for something that I could have free”: “how much am I willing to pay for the reasonable certainty of having “my” place, without stress and by saving on time and the cost of the telephone calls?” If the answer is € 10,00 or higher, make sure you bid!
When and how should bids accepted be paid?
The sum bid at the end of the auction will be due when the booking is complete, i.e. only after having been contacted by our office and after having chosen the pitch.
The sum accepted will be paid together with the deposit in the usual manner (bank transfer, credit card, cash, etc.) If, for any reason, it is not possible to book, the sum will not be payable.
Do I have to pay the deposit as well as the auction bid in order to book?
Yes, the deposit (€ 100.00 for pitches or 30% of the total amount for Holiday Homes) must be paid together with the bid accepted. The deposit will be deducted on leaving, but the auction bid will not.
If I cancel my booking and deposit before the holiday, will the sum paid for the auction be reimbursed too?
No, the sum paid for the auction will not be refunded. Only the deposit will, if you cancel earlier than 14 days before the holiday is due to begin.
Can I book for more than one period with one booking number?
No, each booking number gives you the right to book one, continuous holiday period.
How can I book two or more places near each other?
The best way is to make bids with the same value. You will receive adjacent numbers and your numbers will be handled in sequence. As an alternative, you can bid for one of the “Ultra” pitches which is suitable for two-families occupancy, with the additional benefit of one private bathroom to share. This solution is perfect above all for those with different equipments: caravan or motorhome. Important: Whenever an “Ultra” pitch is shared by two families (2 caravans, 2 motorhomes, one caravan and one motorhome) the use of the club services is guaranteed as if two pitches were used (car parkings, beach loungers, wifi passwords, go-kart and so on).
Can I place bids for different periods?
Yes, you can make separate bids to book different periods (for example, one for Whitsun and one for August). Bids and bookings made in your name cannot be transferred to others.
To make a bid for a second booking: after the log-in, type in the amount of the bid in the space provided and click on “new booking”. Each booking will be given a different number so that when you connect to the site you can check its position and change or cancel it separately.
Can you take part in the auction even if you don’t know how to use the Internet or if you don’t have a computer?
Yes, throughout the whole auction our Club staff are on hand to place bids for those who cannot or don’t know to do it themselves. Just call 0039 0421 971826 and tell us how much you want to bid.
Can friends of yours who have never been guests of the Club take part in the auction?
Yes, each bidder can also “introduce” another family. In order to do this, just click on the link “Introduce a friend” after you have logged in and complete the fields shown in the box. The search engine will later be able to recognize this person, who can then take part in the auction him/herself.
Please remember that each bid is valid for only one booking and only for the bidder.
Therefore those who are “introduced,” after their data has been entered by their friend, will have to access the auction and bid online independently.
Can I see how much the other bids are?
When you log in, a column will appear on the left-hand side with the amount of the highest offer, the amount of the hundredth, two hundredth, three hundredth, four hundredth and so on, so that you can bid for the position you would like to reach.
Can I find out who made the other bids?
No, for reasons of personal data protection, the identity of bidders will not be made available neither during nor after the auction.
How can I find out the position of my bid?
When you connect to the auction page on our site and log in, the computer will automatically show you the position of your bid. At the end of the auction, all the participants will receive an e-mail with their assigned number.
Can I change my bid?
Yes, you can change your bid as often as you like until the auction finishes: connect to the Club website, click on the online auction icon and log in the space provided. This will show the status of your bid with its provisional position and a box to cancel or change the bid (by raising or lowering it).
Why do I have to enter the number of times that I’ve been a guest at the campsite?
Our most regular customers will receive a better number than others with the same bid.
If, when the auction ends, there are several bids for the same amount, how is the booking order decided?
If there are bids for the same amount, the order will be decided on the basis of the number of stays at the campsite (our most loyal guests will be given a better number). If there are still offers for the same amount, they will be judged in terms of time (the older the offer, the better the number).
Can I choose how to be contacted?
Yes, in the bid box you can enter one telephone number. We prefer to use the telephone as it is quick and effective.
Can I find out when I will be contacted by the Club to complete my booking?
At the end of the auction, all participants will receive an e-mail showing the exact date on which they will be contacted by Club Staff.
